Story Development

Creating stories from scratch, expanding on existing concepts, messaging, and themes, or even editing existing scripts are all familiar territory for our team of writers. Our goal in story development is to collaborate and craft a blueprint for the production that speaks clearly to the message and the emotions the audience should feel after their viewing or interaction with the project.

Storyboarding & Pre-viz

As one of the first phases of interpreting a script visually, our team focuses on figuring details of compositing, timing, layout and story beats through rough story-boards and 3D Pre-visualization. We can also produce production-ready clean storyboards and animatics easily interpretable for any production team.

Design & concept Art

Visually, this is where our team loves to flesh out the details. Focusing on all elements of the script: characters, environments, weapons, props, vehicles, and other assets, our team can work to explore design, lightning, mood, and effects details through design sheets, concept art, mood boards, color scripts, and even production tests, in a variety of styles and looks. We also help get approved visuals to production through detailed breakdown sheets and technical drawings.

PRODUCTION SERVICES

2d Traditional Animation

Velorean’s commitment to producing high-end traditional animation has been present since our studio’s founding. We have experience producing hand-drawn animation in a variety of different looks, from stylized children and adult cartoons, to specific anime looks in multiple genres, to broadcast and feature film animation. We’re proficient in all phases of the pipeline, including rough keys and in-betweens, clean-up, color, and tones/highlights, for both character and FX animation.

3d assets & animation

Familiar with a variety of software, our team has used 3D and CGI for a range of projects across several industries. Some of our experience includes working with specific parts of the 3D pipeline, such as modelling and texturing digital assets and environments for mobile games, as well as assets for real-life manufacturing purposes, creating props and set pieces for escape rooms. We also have a strong background in executing the full 3D pipeline, creating commercial spots and music videos in 3D, both in hyper-stylized, cartoony looks alongside more realistic, CGI FX produced to blend seamlessly with live action pieces.

2d rigged animation

Our team is familiar with producing rigged animation in a wide range of software programs. We’re able to create simple puppets with limited rigs designed for specific movements, or we can create complex puppets and rigs with ever expanding libraries for more intensive characters/assets designed long-term re-use. Our team has capabilities across the pipeline, including puppet builds in a variety of styles, rigging for various complexities, and animation for both web-based and broadcast projects.

live action production

Though we got our start in animation, Velorean is an experienced producer for live action projects across mediums and industries as well. With studio capabilities in both the creative side of direction, cinematography, lighting, and sound on set, as well as the managing of the production’s crew, budget, and other logistics both before and after the shoot, Velorean can produce live action projects for commercial work, music videos and film, either on location or in studio. Additionally, our post-production capabilities help guide the footage to the finish line with our in-house creative and post teams.

titles & motion graphics

Having on-brand and creative motion graphics and text-based animation is crucial to the visualization of important data. Our team creates motion graphics both in 2D and 3D formats in a variety of looks, from simplistic shape based animations to whiteboard drawings to striking cinematic texts and graphics. We work with clients across industries to produce engaging explainer videos, corporate training, conference visuals, and educational media, and even title and end credit sequences.

custom fabrication & 3d printing

Working alongside our build and print team at Praxis Resources, our studio develops and designs custom props, maquettes, stop motion assets, costume pieces, and sets for film, animation, escape rooms, and interactive experiences. Using a roster of high end Stratasys 3D printers, such as the J850 Polyjet, CNC Machining, Laser Marking, and CMM/Digital Scanning, our team is able to manufacture custom pieces based upon original designs developed, modeled, and textured by our creative team.
